Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has amassed over Rs 700 crore at the worldwide box office. It has grossed Rs 735 crore worldwide in 9 days of its release. And now director Atlee has opened up about his plans for the sequel of Jawan.
Jawan featured Shah Rukh in a double role and the film concluded with an open ending. The final scene hinted that SRKwill return as Azad and Vikram Rathore for yet another heist.While Atlee said that his every film has an open end but he never thought of doing a sequel to any of his films. However, he said that he will surely come up with a sequel to Jawan one day if anything strong comes to him.
He also told Pinkvilla that if it was for him, he would make a spin-off on Vikram Rathore’s character. Earlier, a report had suggested that Shah Rukh Khan is most excited about the sequel and Atlee has reportedly asked his writers to speed up the process. The report also stated that Vijay Sethupathi might not return for Jawan sequel.Jawan was released on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It also featured Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone in a special appearance, The film is a father-son story that addresses social and political issues through its hero, essayed by Shah Rukh.
