As the governments globally started pushing the EV culture worldwide, asking top car manufacturers to put efforts into the EV segment, instead of ICE. Amid the battle between fuel-powered vehicles vs. EVs, some rumors have begun surfacing on the Internet, where it is being claimed that the American electric car maker Tesla is in talks with Saudi Arabia, and planning to set up its manufacturing plant there. some publications even released some articles regarding the same.

While clearing all the doubts, and giving a clear picture of the matter, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk called the rumors fake. The SpaceX chairman also posted a screenshot of a related article on his official Twitter handle, calling the news false.

Tesla in Saudi Arabia?

Earlier, it was reported by Saudi officials that the country is at initial stage of talking with Tesla, and the company also entertaining the proposal. However, there are chances that the electric car maker might reject the offer given by Saudi, officials added.

Saudi Arabia Is After Tesla?

The report also revealed that Saudi Arabia has been chasing the for quite a long time, asking the company to purchase a specific amount of metal and minerals, which is required in making EVs from the nations like Republic of the Congo. As per the details shared by The Wall Street Journal, Saudis even approached the Congolese government about acquiring the assets in the country, which provides somewhere around 70 percent of the world’s cobalt.

Tesla Plans for India

The report says that the band also showcased a strong interest in setting up a manufacturing plant in India. The report also disclosed that the US-based EV maker might reveal its business operations in India either by the end of this year or the start of 2024.

Meanwhile, the company is currently manufacturing electric vehicles in Germany, the United States, and China, and planning to kickstart the business in Maxixo as well.
